Who we are

The Taxpayer Rights Advocate Office helps taxpayers who have been unsuccessful resolving their problems through Virginia Tax's regular processes. We aim to protect your rights and ensure your tax problems are handled promptly and fairly.  

Screen the return completely and mark all checkboxes that apply.
NOTE: This is important because the customer may have more than one item to correct or include.
1. Print the letter on the locality’s letterhead.
2. Mail the letter, the incomplete return, and all tax documents to the customer.
